Norway's Thomas Carlsen's Transmission Return With New Single "Starchaser"

Norway’s Melodic Heavy Metal Solo Artist Thomas Carlsen’s Transmission, has announced the new single and video "Starchaser," set for release on April 24, 2026, on all major streaming platforms. Recorded in Thomas Carlsen’s Home Studio, "Starchaser" is a story about longing for something that you’ve lost, told within the theme of space and the incomprehensible vastness of the universe. Following the critical success of his second full-length album, "Clockwork Sky," released last year, "Starchaser," features the usual blazing guitars and soaring vocals, and is the first of Carlsen’s compositions to utilize a galloping rhythm, hearkening back to 80's NWOBHM.
Carlsen Comments: "I’ve been full of inspiration since "Clockwork Sky" was so well received. "Starchaser" is a great song to continue the development of Transmission; it sets the tone for a yet-to-be-announced EP, slated for a 2026 release. I’m very pleased with this track, and I was lucky enough to have the powerhouse that is Arnaud Ménard on board with me again for guest vocals."
In addition to this brand-new track, the "Starchaser" single has a B-side, a first in the Transmission discography.
Carlsen States: "I wanted to do a cover song. The last time I did that was "Still Life" by Iron Maiden on the debut EP. This time I’m covering a band from my own country, and the song is not older than 5 years (even though it sounds like a classic!): "The Running Man" by Spidergawd, is fast and riffy, a true joy to play, and I think it pairs extremely well with the melodic "Starchaser." Joining Carlsen on guest vocals for the Spidergawd cover is long-time collaborator Sebastian Palma of Blizzard Hunter.
